Preparing For Your Sunless Tanning Client

Are you organized and ready to start performing spray tans?! The way you set up for spray tanning can say a lot about you as a professional. Where ever you are spraying should make your client feel comfortable. Of course you'll have your HVLP spray tan equipment and favorite spray tanning solutions, but there are many other things you may want to consider.  These things can make the process easier on both you and your clients.

Its always a good idea to have a mirror available in the room so that your client can watch you spray and examine the end results. A fan with a filter can be placed in the room, or mobile spray tanning tent to help collect overspray from the air. Some things to have for your client are hairnets, sticky feet (or a clean towel to stand on), disposable undergarments for those who choose to use them, and spa robes for coverups before and after the spray tan.

Depending on your techniques there might be a few things you'd like to have on hand for yourself.  This might include barrier cream, soft wash clothes for blending (or fixing boo-boos), face masks, and pre and post tanning sprays.  It's also not a bad idea to have a few exfoliating wipes for those clients who did not have the time to properly prepare for their spray tan.

Confidence is the key!  Once you are comfortable with your setup, spray tanning solutions, and techniques you're ready to roll. Don't be afraid to make conversation and build relationships with your clients!  Explain ways to help keep the spray tan looking fresh, and suggest sunless tanning after care products for them to take home.
