Tanning Attire

You would not believe how many people have no idea what to wear to their first spray tanning session! So many people are embarrassed to ask, so they come unprepared!

My recommendation is to wear whatever you are comfortable in! Many women wear bikini bottoms, or thong underwear.  Men wear briefs or boxers.  It really depends on the tan line (or lack there of) that you are looking for!  I also have disposable undergarments available to my spray tanning clients.  It's important to bring loose fitting dark clothing to wear home!  You don't want anything tight fitting that will rub away your new sunless tan!

Setting Your Professional Spray Tan Gun

There are many different setting options for most spray tanning equipment.  We have figured out the setting that works best with the equipment we offer.  This setting will allow the perfect amount of spray tanning solution to come through your gun, without too much overspray!

Pretend the knob on the back of your professional spray tanning gun is a clock.  Close the knob all the way and make a mark at the 12:00 spot. Now open the gun so that the line is now pointing at the 6:00 spot.  Half of a turn.  The perfect setting for your spray tanning equipment!

Choosing the Right Solution

There are so many different kinds of spray tanning solutions!  How can you possibly know what products to use on what clients?!

The answer to this is really simple.  Use the right DHA level for your clients skin type, and you will never be disappointed!  Light skinned people, who are very sun sensitive should use original shade solutions.  These have the lowest levels of DHA.  Dark solutions can be used on most people, light to dark skinned, who tan fairly well.  Extra dark spray tanning solutions are best for clients who already have dark skin.  Extra dark is also great for clients who tan very well, or who's skin is used to spray tanning.  Remember that using a higher DHA level does not always mean you client will be darker! Orange tones or off color development happen from spraying someone too light with too dark of a solution!
